With a goal of making Halifax Transit more accessible for everyone, in December 2016, we launched a pilot phase of automatic stop announcements on several bus routes. These stop announcements help our hearing and visually impaired transit users through audio and visual cues, meaning that riders no longer need to rely on the bus operator or other passengers for information during their trip.

Starting January 30th, we’re excited to announce that all bus routes will be equipped with stop-by-stop voice announcements and digital signs, ensuring that every rider knows where their next stop is.
